Historical Sketch
For many
years, McNeese State University recognized Black History Month each
February, but events during this time were few and far between. In 2004,
with the formation of the McNeese Black History Month Committee, the
University began presenting Black History Months filled with events and
activities that proudly and significantly celebrate Americans of African
descent.

The records consist of newspaper
articles, meeting minutes, promotional materials, and samples of the work
of featured artists.
